"The root of all health and sickness is in the colon."
- Dr. Norman W. Walker
Colon Hydrotherapy is a highly effective detoxification treatment, removing accumulated toxins from the body by flushing the colon with purified water.
Colon Hydrotherapy has been practiced since ancient times. It is now a core component of health maintenance and disease prevention in cultures throughout the world.
A series of Colon Hydrotherapy treatments promotes proper colon function, restoring regular bowel action and improving general health.
The colon is the key waste evacuation route for the body. Dysfunction of this system will lead to significant health complications, and not just the above-listed conditions. Colorectal cancer is now the second leading cause of death from cancer.
The colon is five to six feet long, absorbs water and nutrients back into circulation, has a microbial terrain that is often out of balance, and serves to eliminate fecal matter, thereby decreasing our body’s toxic burden.
When our colon is overburdened by toxins, fungal overgrowth, or impacted fecal matter, the body begins reacting, producing signals of this imbalance – these are the symptoms we begin to notice.
By completing a series of 2 to 6 Colon Hydrotherapy cleansing treatments, colon function will be significantly enhanced, resulting in a marked improvement in an individual’s health. In particular, patient’s notice an increased sense of well-being, and enhanced energy and mood.

Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect when I book a colon hydrotherapy session?
When you come in for a treatment, the therapist will spend a few minutes asking you some questions about your health and digestion. You will be provided with disposable shorts to wear during the treatment. You lie on the table while the therapist gently inserts a small, sterile speculum into your anus, which allows you to be connected to the colon hydrotherapy unit. The therapist then controls the unit to allow water to flow gently in and out of your colon, carrying out waste material. It is normal to feel some new or odd sensations during a session, but it is not commonly painful.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions advised will be determined by your therapist or supervising physician based on your medical history, your primary health concerns, and how you respond to your first session. Commonly 3 to 6 treatments are needed to see long term results.
What should I do to prepare for the treatment?
You can have a successful colonic without any special preparations beforehand, but it is best to avoid heavy food for a few hours before your treatment. If you are hungry eat a piece of fruit or vegetable and some raw nuts to keep your blood sugar up. It is also helpful to avoid refined foods (white flour, white sugar, table salt, processed fats) for a few days before. A tablespoon of olive oil one or two nights before your treatment, and a glass of warm water with the juice of half a fresh organic lemon the morning of your treatment can help make it more effective.
Please note: it is best to eat something light before the session. If you are on an empty stomach, you may feel a bit nauseous throughout the treatment.
What should I do after the treatment?
After your treatment, it is best to avoid roughage (certain foods that are difficult to digest, such as some whole grains, nuts, seeds and legumes) for the rest of the day as this may cause gas cramps. Focus on lightly steamed vegetables, some lean protein (white meat, not red) and if you like something raw - vegetable juice made from carrot, celery and greens is usually also well tolerated. The next day you can resume a normal diet.
Will I need to go to the bathroom multiple times after my treatment?
It’s normal to experience a few bowel movements immediately after your treatment, but you won’t have to be running to the toilet all day. The therapist will allow plenty of time for you to use the toilet after your session before you leave the clinic. Most people feel fine within a few minutes after their session.
